Terms of Use

By downloading, installing, or using VoxStar (“the App”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you are a parent or guardian, you agree to these terms on behalf of your child. If you do not agree to these terms, do not use the App.

VoxStar is a speech and debate practice application that provides AI-powered feedback on recorded speeches. The App offers multiple practice modes including SPAR Debate, Impromptu Speech, Casual Speech, Debate Practice, and Tongue Twisters.

• You may use VoxStar without creating an account. Sign-in is optional and enables benefits such as cross-device practice history sync and access to your subscription on other devices.
• If you choose to sign in, you may use Sign in with Apple or Google Sign-In. You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account.
• For users under 13, parental consent is required before using VoxStar’s practice features. This applies whether or not the child creates an account.
• You may delete your account at any time from the Profile screen.

VoxStar offers a free tier and a paid Pro subscription.

Free Tier includes limited topics, Easy and Medium difficulty, 5 sessions per day (unlimited Tongue Twisters), and on-device transcription.

VoxStar Pro includes all topics, all difficulties, unlimited sessions, Cloud AI transcription, and full practice history.

• Payment is charged to your Apple ID (iOS) or Google Play account (Android) at confirmation of purchase.
• Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
• You can manage and cancel subscriptions in your Apple ID account settings (iOS) or Google Play subscription settings (Android).
• No refunds are provided for partial subscription periods, except as required by applicable law.
• A subscription purchased without signing in is tied to your Apple ID or Google Play account. You can sign in later to link the subscription to your VoxStar account for use on additional devices.

You agree not to:

• Use the App for any unlawful purpose
• Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App
• Interfere with or disrupt the App’s services or servers
• Share your account credentials with others
• Use the App to generate harmful, abusive, or inappropriate content

All content, features, and functionality of the App are owned by VoxStar Labs and are protected by copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. AI-generated feedback is provided for educational purposes only.

• You retain ownership of your audio recordings.
• By using Cloud AI transcription, you grant us a limited license to forward your recordings to Groq for transcription via an open-source Whisper model, and to send the resulting transcribed text to Google’s Gemini API for the sole purpose of generating feedback.
• Our servers do not store your audio recordings. Per Groq’s Privacy Policy, audio is not retained by Groq beyond the time needed to process the request and is not used for model training.
• You may switch to on-device transcription at any time. When using on-device transcription, audio is processed entirely on your device using your platform’s built-in speech recognition (Apple Speech Recognition on iOS, Google Speech Services on Android) and never leaves your device.

The App is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranties of any kind, either express or implied. We do not guarantee that:

• The App will be uninterrupted or error-free
• AI feedback will be perfectly accurate
• Transcription results will be 100% correct

AI-generated feedback is for educational practice purposes and should not be relied upon as professional coaching.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, VoxStar Labs shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of or inability to use the App.

We reserve the right to modify these Terms of Use at any time. Changes will be effective when posted in the App with an updated “Last updated” date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance.

These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the United States, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
